|Poem for a piece of Sherlock art by dauntdraws:

I saw this piece yesterday, and I couldn't get it to stop knocking around in my thoughts. There are so many excellent artists starting to emerge in this fandom.
Artwork here: Just...Don't
Moon arched against stark clouds, round
as the Eye and just as wide. It's enough
with the Thames to your left and the wind
humming hollow lullabyes. Your throat
won't open for words. Can't. Your hands
fight for purchase, fiercely part the dark,
find startled warmth. Not what you expected,
but this is sheerest want. Strange belonging
in the low strains of his kiss. The fall
of his hair, the hitch of his breath.
The fact that you have done this.
Yes, you can get a signature if you wait ;)
I should have some by next week, since I got paid this weekend! I get them at half-cost from my publisher, now that I've blown through my advance-payment copies.
Then I'll wait and take both books at once... as soon as you have them :)
Would you write me a message as soon as you got them? Then I can give you my address, you give me your bank accounts and the price and so on... XD
(I wish I'd have sold so many of my books yet *sighs* But nobody seems to be very interested in poems, not where I live...)
Hey, wait - we could do a book trade, if you like! Do you have any copies of yours? Seriously, let's trade - that seems fair, unless the cost is very different? Do you have any of yours in stock at the moment?
